Richard's Vacation started on the 7th. (However the 6th was a work mandatory Pool Party. So that wasn't too bad! ;)
Saturday, the 7th we left for Savannah GA for 2 nights. The first stop on our way to Myrtle Beach. I'll be posting them in sections: Savannah, Charelston & Myrtle Beach.
The pictures are just a small portion of how many we actually took!
The whole drive to Savannah, Cailey constantly asked to see the water! So after we stopped at our Inn and Cailey took a nap we went to Tybee Island.
There was a storm blowing in. Too bad we didn't make it to the car before it hit. We were totally drenched!! These were the last few pictures we got while we were dry!!
After going back to the room and getting dried off we went to Uncle Bubba's Oyster House. This is Paula Deans Brother. This was the best meal of the trip!! Was delicious! Normally you can see the marsh outside the windows, but a few weeks prior TV Network had redecorated for Paula's Party. This is where they are filmed.
After dinner we walked down River Street.
Cailey waiting on me while I fixed her breakfast at the Inn. You can tell she just woke up. We stayed at The Staybridge Inn (pictured above). It's on Bay St across from Emmit park (below). It's so conveniently located. You just walk across the street and down the steps and you are at River Street.
Down the steps to River Street.
I love this picture! ~~~Big Boat!!
We got on a Trolley and toured the Historic district. The best way to travel. We were able to get off and on the trolley as we like.
This is the house from "Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~First Headquarters of the Girl Scouts
Taking a ride ~~~~~~~~~~~~The Pirate House
Need I say more?? We did not eat here. It was Sunday and they just have the buffet, which you could see through the windows. Didn't look worth the $18 ea.
At Forsyth Park
The Old Harbor Light.
Another trip to River Street.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Cailey with the Waving Girl.
Going across the bridge on our way to Charleston. A look back at Savannah & River Street.
We had a great time & really loved Savannah. Especially the Trees!!
Savannah is said to be the most Haunted city in the US. And FYI the most haunted house in savannah is for sale!! =)
Next...Charleston, SC.
