We have returned from a very enjoyable trip at the beach. This is the first trip to the beach for us since we went to Gulf Shores in 2000! So this trip was long overdue!! When we got to Fort Walton on Thursday we went to the beach just to walk a little and to see how Cailey would react. She was in awe of it all, but she would not let us put her down! Friday morning we went to the Gulfarium. Loved the dolphins. Cailey didn't really get into the shows because it made her have to sit still and watch something. Didn't work out. The Dolphin in the picture stopped at the window to check us out. It really freaked Cailey out and she started crying. I think she really liked looking at the sharks swimming with her daddy. She also liked riding the little play horse. Who needs 50 cents when you have a daddy to push it around in circles!!
After the Aquarium, lunch, a trip to Target to buy Cailey some water shoes in hopes of her walking on the beach, and a nap we were off to play on the beach. Cailey loved the water! She even loved the taste of it. She would lick her lips and say "Yummy, taste!". She even tried to make Richard taste it! And last but not least, she finally played in the sand and even let Richard bury her legs.
We tried to get some nice shots of on the beach Friday evening when the sun was setting in her white sundress. Unfortunately timing was not on our side. We had to wake her up from her nap and it was soooo windy and cool. She was not a happy girl!!! So I was a little dissapointed that we didn't get any good shots. Oh well, maybe next year. We went to Joe's Crab shack for dinner. It was soooo good! Definitely recommend it!
Saturday we headed back to Anniston and stopped at the Florala state Park and had a picnic lunch. It's a really nice park. We also stopped at Clanton at the Peach Park for some ice cream. It was a nice trip and already looking forward to next year!
