My Spiderman Hat!! 7-23-07

One night Cailey found a toboggan in her room and went in the living room, covered her head and said "Look dad I'm like SPIDERMAN!". I was doing laundry and didn't know what she was doing so Richard told her to show me. I told her to take that thing off of her head. Then she says, It's my Spiderman Hat!!

7-20-07 Harry Potter Release at Books A Million

Richard & Andrew dressed up as Hagrid (I have no idea if I spelled that right) and Harry Potter for the Release of the last Harry Potter book. We headed to Books A Million along with hundreds of other Potter fans, and of course the majority were dressed up. I didn't go to the last release when the guys dressed up, but was glad I went and saw the reactions. Of course Richard was the only Hagrid there. Was cute to see girls going up to him and hugging Hagrid. Funny Story, We were all hanging out at the magazines for a bit and Richard went to wash his hands. Andrew & Katie were walking toward us and saw me & Cailey and was like "Oh, there you guys are. I was looking for Hagrid." And a girl walking by says, Hagrid's in the Bathroom! Funny.
From that night on Richard had his nose in the book desperately trying to get it finished before he heard anything about it on tv, etc and before he went back to work on Monday. He finished it Sunday night.

7-17-07 Birmingham Zoo

Tuesday, the 17th, Cailey had a Dr. Appointment at Children's South to check the tubes in her ears (They were good). While we were in B'ham we went to the Zoo. (A bonus that it's half off on Tuesdays!) She was really excited to see all the animals. She kept saying "I want to see MORE ANIMALS!!" But of course it started to rain when we got there.

We were in the Primate building while it rained really hard! We sat at the viewing area for the Gorillas. And since the seats were "stadium" type, that was cue for Cailey to sing!


After it rained and was so very hot we went through the Butterfly House.

SNAKES!!


Cailey said her favorite animal was the Seals. But she also liked the hippo & the snakes! She wasn't scared of them at all. This was the first time in YEARS that the reptile house was open. We had just recently watched the Snake Farmer episode of Dirty Jobs. So when Cailey saw the Really big boas she said "Look, just like on Dirty Jobs!"

Cailey's First Movie

Monday, the 16th, we took Cailey to her first movie...Ratatouille. (Not counting when we took her in the Spiderman movie when she was 1 month old!) There were only about 6 other people in the theater (no small kids) so any noise she made was easily heard. But she did really good and liked the movie a lot! We are glad that we can now go see the kid friendly movies (which are some of our favs anyway).

Vacation Part III - Myrtle Beach 7-10-07

We drove up to Myrtle Beach on Tuesday, the 10th. We stayed with our friends, Chad & Kate. The first day there we had dinner where Cailey made her own pizza and went to Boardwalk at the Beach. Me & Cailey rode the carousal and the kid ferris wheel & then we all watched the fireworks. The Next day was Beach time!

The First HARD ROCK park is under construction in Myrtle Beach. It looks awesome! We had the best time at their backstage tour.

Led Zeppelin Roller Coaster! How cool is that!! The seats will have speakers in them playing led zeppelin. I must ride that roller coaster!! So we will be going back! ~~~~~~~The model of the park. Said to open Summer '08.

This was projected on the floor with roaches running across. It sensored when you covered them (Stepping on them) and they would "squish". ~~~~Cailey sees something cool! Right next to the ice guitar that they have every day.


In the 60's/70's room. Had a spinning tunnel with a stationary bridge that went through it. With all the psychedelic black lights in it. Was very hard to go through and not practically fall over! It was wild and richard had to go through it multiple times!

Was a great trip, we went home on Friday. Were totally pooped. Luckily Richard still had one more week of vacation to rest. Or atleast try!
